What Others Are Saying

I was injured in an auto accident. I had seen a chiropractor for treatments and was not getting any relief. I was in so much pain I couldn’t work. My left hand was numb, I could barely turn my head; I was in a lot of pain. My neighbor gave me Dr. Bell’s information and I attended one of his seminars. After getting my treatments at Optimum Healthcare I am completely without pain, no numbness in my hand and no limitations in my neck. It is like a miracle being without pain. Carl Don Reeves, 68, Long Haul Truck Driver, Hemet, CA (Texas)

I suffered with spinal stenosis for over 2 years. I consulted with many doctors, was given lots of pain medications. I even tried injections into my spine. The injections only helped for short periods of time. Since completing my treatments I am able to walk better, and play golf. I was able to get relief from my pain. Try it, it helped me. Elnora Dean, 82, Retired, Sun Lakes, CA

I have had back pain off and on for 25 years. Over the years it bothered me more and more. I had degenerated discs that prevented me from walking any distance, I was forced to quit playing golf. I felt like I was losing my independence.  I took pain pills every day but they didn’t help me. My doctor mentioned that I should consult with Dr. Bell. I can honestly say I feel years younger. I now walk every day and have losing weight as well. I have gone back to playing golf and traveling. My friends and relatives can see the change in me. I always tell others about the DRX9000. Irene Madden, 75, Retired Legal Secretary, Hemet, CA

I lived with low back, leg and knee pain for 3 years. I became unable to drive and I couldn’t walk a lot. I constantly lived on pain pills and a heating pad. I talked to others who had been to Optimum Healthcare and decided that the DRX9000 would help me too. I no longer have back pain or leg pain. It kept me from having a surgery. I tell everyone how much better I feel. Ed Snyder, Store Clerk, 65, San Jacinto, CA

I had a lumbar surgery in my lower back that left me with a foot drop and a weak left leg. Walking was very slow and I was unable to go dancing, run, and my golf game was horrible. After researching the DRX9000 I felt that it would improve my condition. My foot drop has nearly gone away, and I am no longer stiff and sore all the time. I now understand the importance of maintaining my correction and will continue to see Dr. Bell for follow-up care to keep the new found correction I have achieved. DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

Despite what countless patients have been told.....surgery is not your only option nor do you have to live with painful and debilitating low back and neck pain. Thanks to the concerted efforts of a team of top physicians and medical engineers, there is now a solution that can help end the pain and suffering of low back and neck pain without the use of medications or surgery.

The DRX9000 Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System uses patent-pending technology to help cure or alleviate the pain that is caused by Herniated/Bulging Discs, Degenerative Disc Disease, Facet Syndrome, Sciatica, Lateral Canal Stenosis, as well as the symptoms of tingling, burning and numbness in the upper and lower extremities.

The DRX9000 is an FDA cleared device that effectively treats the effects of low back and neck pain and allows patients to return to more active fulfilling lifestyles in just a few short weeks. In fact, recent clinical studies have revealed that a majority of patients achieve exceptional results with their low back and neck related problems with success rates as high as 89.3%*. In most cases, patients can experience as much as a 50% reduction in their pain levels and as much as a 50% reduction in the size and extent of disc herniations.

A Non Surgical Alternative to Low Back and Neck Pain

Up until now most treatments have been aimed at treating one thing....pain. If you have tried other therapies or medications, perhaps even surgery and have yet to find relief it may be because pain is not your problem. Pain is a warning sign that something is wrong within the body and is only an indicator of a problem; it is not the problem.

Does is make sense to cover up the symptom of pain or correct the cause of the problem?

If you said correct the problem you're right. When only the pain is addressed as soon as you stop covering up the pain it returns. If what you are doing to treat the pain is not working, that can be frustrating. The reason just treating pain can be unsuccessful is there is usually an underlying cause. With regard to low back and neck pain the cause is typically a herniated/bulging disc, degenerated disc, facet arthropathy, stenosis, arthritis, etc. Until these conditions are corrected there is little hope of ending the pain and suffering.

Maintaining Healthy Discs Is Important To Living Pain-Free

Your spine is surrounded with a fluid-like material (called cerebro-spinal fluid CSF) that contains water, oxygen, and nutrients. CSF normally circulates through your spinal canal as you walk. The CSF also flows through the disc to help keep it hydrated. Having well hydrated discs is very important because after age 25 the blood supply, which supplies the water, oxygen and nutrients, disappears. This means the only way to hydrate the discs in your spine is through the CSF. If the discs become compressed, or damaged in anyway, this can lead to severe loss of fluid which causes the discs to dry out and thin. If enough pressures is exerted on the disc it can change shape, called a herniation/bulge, and press against the delicate spinal nerves. The result of these problems is pain. The good news is these problems can be correcetd utilizing a procedure called spinal decompression.

Spinal Decompression is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment where a gentle mechanical distractive force is applied to the spine. This force is applied in a way that elongates (stretches) the spine. If you think of the problem you are having right now as a compression then spinal decompression helps reverse this.

By using decompressive forces that separate the two vertebra above and below the disc; water, oxygen and nutrients are drawn back into the injured disc. The helps to regenerate and rehydrate the injured tissue. Over a few weeks time this process naturally adds more water within the disc area. The result is decreased pressure on the nerve and a reduction in pain.

How Does The DRX9000 Work?

The DRX9000 is comprised of a set of treatment computers and a special motor called a servo-motor that is controlled by the computers. Once your doctor has determined the type of treatment you will need that information is programmed into the computer. This allows us to target the specific area that is causing pain. This also helps ensure that the patient receives the exact amount of decompressive force necessary to to relieve the pressure on the nerve that is causing pain. The treatment computers constantly check and correct the servo-motor unit that provides the decompressive force. The result is a safe, painless, comfortable treatment.

During the decompression process the bones in the spine are gently separated which reduces the pressure inside the disc. The drop in pressure creates a "vaccuum-type" suction that draws the herniated portion of the disc that is pressing against the spinal cord back into the center. Because of this negative pressure water, oxygen and nutrients are also drawn back inside the disc. The allows the body's natural ability to heal the injury and regenerate and rehydrate the injured disc. When the pressure is relieved on the spinal cord the pain is reduced at the same time.

Over the course of the treatment period the computer cycles the machine between a period of decompression followed by a brief period of relaxation. This allows the muscles to relax and reduces the chance of a reactionary muscle spasm which contributed to poor success outcomes with outdated traditional traction. Traction tables at best have been able to lower the intradiscal pressure from +90 to a +30 mmHg pressure. Spinal Decompressoin has been clinically proven to lower intradiscal pressure between -150 to -200 mmHG.

What Can I Expect From The Treatment?

During Treatment

A typical treatment session on the DRX9000 is a painless, comfortable procedure. You lay on a soft padded bed with your legs under a padded cushion to reduce stress to your lower back. Numerous safety mechanisms are in place to ensure that you get the correct amount of decompression. The treatment computers constantly monitor your progress and can make adjustments to the decompressive force within miliseconds. The computers are so sensitive that even coughing or sneezing can be detected. Your doctor can monitor the decompression from a computer screen and can make adjustments as necessary.

While undergoing decompression this is one of the only times during the day that many patients feel relief of their pain. The reason is because the gentle distraction of decompression relieves the pressure on the nerve which reduces the pain receptor response to the brain. Even patients who cannot comfortably lay flat on their back to sleep are able to rest comfortably on the DRX9000.

After A Treatment Session

Spinal Decompression is non_sugical and non-invasive. Becuase of this, patients do not have to quit work to deal with a lengthy recovery time. However, it is not uncommon for patients to feel tired or slightly sore following a treatment session. As the spine and its connective tissues are being stretched this can result in a feeling as though you have exercised at a moderate level. This effect can last for an hour or two after each session but is not a negtive effect of treatment. We recommend resting after each session as your body will heal and absorb the effects of treatment for several hours. Every effort is made to minimize any potential soreness before leaving our office. We will administer ice, massage, or electrical muscle stimulation as necessary.

The Treatment Program

Your doctor will work with you to determine the number of visits necessary for your particular condition. Each DRX9000 treatment session lasts approximately 30 minutes. Following each session you will be placed into our recovery room for ice and muscle stimulation. This helps minimize any soreness or discomfort following treatment. As your condition begins to stabilize we will work with you to design a strengthening and stretching program to support your descompression therapy. We will also work with you on lifestyle an recommendations so you can maximize your results and maintain your new found health.

Great! I'm Interested What Next?

Your doctor will sit down with you one-on-one and help determine if you are a candidate for spinal decompression. It will be necessary for you to bring to your consultation any x-ray or MRI films you have had taken. If you do not have any films we can assist you in having these done. This can usually be completed the same day.

During your consultation your doctor will complete a thorough health history as well as personally review with you your diagnostic imaging (x-ray, MRI). We will explain to you in simple terms how decompression will help in your particular case. Your doctor will recommend the number of visits necessary for your problem. By the end of your consultation you will understand what the problem is and how it can be corrected.
